SAN ANTONIO, Texas. SA Blue Cats host their monthly open blues jam at Midtown Meetup Neighborhood Hangout, 801 W Russell Pl, from 8 to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, and again on Thursday, Dec. 10.
An open jam is the blues in its natural habitat: a house band keeps the groove, and players take turns stepping up for a chorus or two. The SA Blue Cats invite musicians to take part and share an evening of blues playing, while listeners get a front row view of a tradition that still lives best in small rooms.
Bring an instrument and an ear for the changes, or simply bring a friend. RSVP is free on Eventbrite.
Midtown Meetup is at 801 W Russell Pl, San Antonio, TX 78212. Event details and the full calendar are at https://midtownmeetupneighborhoodhangout.com/events/, and RSVPs are at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sa-blue-cats-monthly-open-jam-tickets-2003746541846.
