Midtown Meetup has become one of San Antonio's most lived-in neighborhood gathering spaces: part bar, part mini market, part kitchen, part social club, part stage. In a 2025 Voyage San Antonio profile, Cortez described Midtown Meetup as a "neighborhood bar-dega" built around low-cost or free classes, pop-ups, workshops, concerts, and connection across Alta Vista, Beacon Hill, Five Points, Monte Vista, and Tobin Hill. She also described the space as open every day, noon to midnight, even holidays. That open-door spirit is what the benefit aims to make more visible.
